While England were perceived to be in the easier half of the Euro 2024 draw, Spain's route to the final could not have been more trickier. In the group stage, they defeated 2018 World Cup semifinalists Croatia and reigning European champions Italy.
Then in the quarterfinals they overcame hosts Germany, who were arguably the second-best team in the Euros, and in the semifinals, they dumped 2018 world champions France out of the mix thanks to yet another electrifying performance from 17-year-old superstar Lamine Yamal.
